Game as a Media
My favorite game is league of legends. I played a lot in Korean college with my friends. This game is based on team surviving, so we can corporate each other and it was really great memory to me.
During game, we can make ours own story based on our play. People can choose characters and roles, so it will be every new story. In addition, people can voice talk during game playing, and it makes fun story for people. Therefore, for me, game is one of similar genre as literature. because literature has characters, their roles and stories. In game, they are really important elements. People enjoys their game story and different stories with other prayer.

Blanket
Balnket is an autobiographical graphic novel by Craig Tompson and he is an main character in the story. His growth environment is really complicate. He was really poor and had parents who had devout believers and He was in sever growth environment. However, he didn't give up his life and made a book using unique drawing style and his own voice.
There are two meanings of blanket to him. One is the most cozy nest from every dangerous with younger brother and another meaning is girlfriend's blanket. It makes forget their real world and like a dream.
I thought it is really great over to give a hope to children and I felt author's voice well because his drawings make his voice strong. For me, he chose a genre of graphic narrative very well.

The Goose Father
The Goose Father
If I will work as set director in this play, I am going to focus on making real life set. The reason is that I am korean, so I know korea set very well. But this play is based on past, so I don't know very well. Therefore, I want to study and research about that time in korea and make set like that perfectly. In addition, I want to show more traditional korea set and make more interesting. For example, Korea garaoke is so unique place in the past, so I want make it really interesting.
Also, I have an interesting in layout and camera shot, so I want to make a set by considering them. because important thing in film are layout and camera shot, so I need to consider them. I have to make a set by thinking them together. also, I will concentrate on a design style for sets, locations, graphics, props, lighting, camera angles and costume. I want to pay careful attention on detail prop designs too. I want to coordinate the general set colors and costume colors for film's mood.

"The Story of An Hour" Kate Chopin (1894)
In this story, she doesn't have her identity and life before her husband's death. But after her husband.s death, she realizes that she becomes a free woman and this shows how her life will change and now, she becomes a new person and escapes from repressed life befell. In the story, there is no evidence she is repressed, but her reaction about his death and she feels newfound confidence and freedom. In addition, there is no explanation about their relationship, but people can know their relationship is not unfair through her reaction. People also can estimate about woman and man's relationship in that time. In that time, man has more power and oppressive and woman has to follow man's opinion. Therefore, woman receives unfair treatments from man usually and woman couldn't speak their role and treat in the society.
I think nowadays, this role and there is still prejudice about woman and man. Therefore, woman has to speak their role in the society and gets fair treatment.

Female hero
In the states, there are so many hero comics and movies. But, when I was young, usually I watched Japan comics and animations. In japan animation, most famous woman hero animation is Sailor moon.
I like woman hero animations because I get confidence of woman power through them. And they do not get the help of men, and they finish up the villains by using herself power. I think most important things of hero is confidence. When I was young, I learned confidence through these animations. on the other hands, most interesting is that the woman heroes in japan animation are not perfect. In actual life, they live ordinary as student and also they have disadvantages. But when they are becoming hero, they strive their best to save people by sacrificing. They are not perfect, and their flaws could change the course of the story. They has to make choices, and They have to deal with the consequences of her choices. There is nothing more frustrating than reading a story where the protagonist fails to make choices. Even if this is how we behave in real life, we want our fictional heroes to be a better version of ourselves. We want them to take action. We want to them to go after what they want.

True Grit
"True Grit" is a novel publishes in 1968 and it came out the movie in 1969 and the main actor is John Wayne. In 2010, Coen brothers made "True Grit" movie again and it is more modern. For me, the movies of 2010 is more natural acting and direction, so it is more good to watch.
Honestly, I do not have interest in Western movie and I usually did not watch. Maybe this movie is my first wester movie I watched. In the movie, I really was captivated Mattie Ross actress because her acting is really awesome and so brilliant. She took her father's dead body by herself and sold her father's stuffs and she hired people to revenge using money. Usually, it is so difficult to decide to kill the suspect to kill her father. Therefore, she is really confident and looks so awesome.
Mattie, Cogburn and Leboeuf tried to find the suspect and they learned about friendship and family affection. Through this trip, the lived together as a family for her life. It is wester movie, but there is heat warming story.
In korea, we have different title, "The Brave" and I think it is too different . In "True Grit", grit has the meaning of courage, but it is not simple courage. It is more like an iron will, the spirit of courage and strong will. So the Korean title of "The Brave" is too different as "True Grit".

Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice
Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice
it was my first time to read "Pride and Prejudice", and i just knew this novel is really famous in the world. Honestly, i am not enjoying reading a book and i didn't know about this story, but i felt interesting in "Pride and Prejudice" when i read "Pride and Prejudice". The reason is that this topic of the novel is relevant in my life because i am woman. I think woman always think their marriage life. This novel is about love and marriage. Writer criticizes the custom of the marriage in the middle age and describes the romantic marriage life. I think any woman have a stereotype of marriage and imagination about romantic marriage life. These are really same between past and present for woman. Now, woman's social status has been raised these days, but many woman get problems in their marriage life. They dream their romantic marriage life, but they can not give up their status and their honor because of marriage. However, people think usually woman have to care their kids and do household besides the working in the company. However, I think this stereotype is wrong and woman always have to think their right of marriage. Therefore, i felt really interesting about "Pride and Prejudice, because i can understand their story well and can compare woman's life between the middle age and present.

Prologue of my life
I remember that I first met with Fine
Arts when I was a kindergarten student. I liked going outside, drawing pictures
and making anything with various materials. In addition, watching American
animation films, I used to draw characters appearing in the film. My enthusiasm
and love for fine arts that started from that time naturally led to entering
Sunhwa Arts High School in Korea. Sunhwa Arts High School is an arts high
school in Korea that fosters young artists, having the best arts education
environment in Korea. At the school, I mainly learned painting and design, and
started to agonize what I want to do.
When I was a 1st grader of high
school, for the first time, I had a class of making clay animation with
friends. It was a very fresh experience to compose a story with friends, design
characters, make them with soil and then create animation by taking pictures
with a camera one by one. Therefore, after knowing that I can express what I
want to speak through animation, I became all the more interested in the genre
of animation. In addition, the works of my practical skill teacher who was
majoring in the Dept of Sculpture in Seoul National University and was famous
for Independent short clay animation in Korea influence me much. And I saw
various genres' animations in animation festivals. While seeing variety of
animation work, I became to have a mind hoping that someday I also would be
able to show my animation work on the screen in front of many people and give
them deep impression. In order to settle my curiosity of animation, I went to a
library and searched for books about clay animation.
I was very impressed after reading Nick
Park's writing, “Clay animation aesthetics come from ruggedness that we can feel from
animators' words in the film". Nick Park is the director of
Wallace & Gromit that I saw much during my childhood. When our work was
completed and we saw it together with friends, I was very happy because of the
fact that I made animation and felt the beauty and grandeur coming from one
image. Having growing passion for animation, I saw Korean director of
Dreamworks, Jennifer Yuh Nelson's <Kung Fu Panda 2> when I was a 2nd
grader in a high school. And I thought that I want to become a Korean woman
director in the US animation market. But in Sunhwa Arts High School, there
wasn't a curriculum of learning animation and while drawing pictures for a
Korean university entrance, my vision for the future
became blurred. There wasn't any university where I wanted to study
animation, and as the result of fierce competition for entering a
university, at last I entered the Dept of Ceramics, Kyunghee University. As a
freshman in Kyunghee University, I spent hard days wandering my future course
in my mind.
In the meantime, I
watched the short animations from Ringling college and I first became to know about Ringling college. So
the thought that I would certainly do animation anyway caught me. In addition,
seeing many world famous American animation directors who graduated from Ringling college. Therefore, I came in the states and decided to learn at Ringling.
